My art corner, showcasing my ability to collaborate creatively with artists
Concept: A fan art piece of Shu from Arknights. I was fascinated by how the original character design managed to coordinate strongly contrasting hues into a unified aesthetic.
Technical Approach: Instead of traditional painting intuition, I applied Computer Graphics concepts to the rendering process:
Tibetan Orthographic Study: An exploration of high-saturation color harmonies typical of Tibetan architecture. The challenge was to balance these intense colors within a rigid orthographic structure without causing visual fatigue.
Stylized Medieval Structure: A standard exercise in shape language and material differentiation (stone vs. wood vs. roof tiles).
Cinematic Composition: Practice pieces focusing on linear perspective and storytelling.
Workflow: An experimental piece blending real-world photography with rough 3D modeling (Kitbashing) to create a sci-fi environment.
Self-Critique (Technical Analysis): Looking back, this piece lacks proper Atmospheric Depth (Aerial Perspective). The distant objects remain too sharp and contrasty, failing to blend into the “fog” naturally.
Character Drafts: A collection of character concepts exploring different silhouettes and attire designs.
Film Study (Cleopatra & Antony): A color and light study based on a film scene. Focused on capturing the mood and rapid lighting information rather than details.
Key Art: “The Last Corner”: Cover art for my university game project. Depicts a Samurai protagonist, focusing on dramatic lighting to set a tense tone.
